It turns out that not only do men use the mobile Web more than women, but they use it shockingly more. A whopping 88.1 percent of mobile Web users were male, which means the ratio is nearly nine to one. Nine to one. Are we men just that much more obsessed with technology and the Internet? I honestly have no idea. If someone else wants to weigh in on this, they are more than welcome. I’ve got nothing.
The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals has ruled that there should be greater restrictions on an employer to access emails and other communications send by its workers. Specifically, businesses contracted to handle a company’s servers cannot read communications unless they are given permission by the employee. It’s always nice to get a victory in a privacy issue.
Like Verizon, Sprint plans to offer Exchange and Lotus Notes email from their mass market handsets. It won’t cost anything for customers with an unlimited data plan, and $10 per month otherwise.
Obopay has teamed with MasterCard to enhance a mobile payment platform. It will handle person to person payments for the time being, with expansion to other types of transfers in the future.
