Lots of new phone information heading into the weekend. Verizon seems to be all over the new releases lately, dumping a whole slew of smartphones and PDAs on the market. There’s really only one problem with them: They’re not the iPhone, even though many of them pretend to be. You’ll see what I’m talking about.
- Phone Scoop has a review of the Samsung Glyde. It sounds fine and good. I’m a huge fan of the slider keyboard. However, the big gripe seems to be the unresponsiveness of the touchscreen. If you’re going to compete with the iPhone, the screen should be the place to start.
- We could be seeing a chip in 2009 that integrates GPS, Bluetooth, and WiFi. If they can make it small enough, it will be an enormous development. Fitting all the chips into one casing is supposedly a problem that holds back a lot of manufacturers.
- Looks like AT&T will be getting the Nokia E71. Kinda looks like the BlackBerry 9000 to me.
- If you’ve got a touchscreen Windows Mobile device, you might want to check out this review for SMS-Chat. Seems a pretty neat way to thread your text message conversations.
- Verizon has finally added the Motorola Q9c. It’s available online now, and in stores over the next few weeks. It’s $250 after rebates and contract.
